Saltbox has been building toward this for a while. Since opening its first location in Atlanta in 2019, the company has grown into a national co-warehousing network — one that now serves product-based businesses across 8 U.S. markets. Today, we're announcing the next chapter: a Series C funding round led by Atlanta-based Packard Capital, the opening of our twelfth location in Chamblee, Georgia, and our upcoming entry into the Chicago market this fall.
If you're an ecommerce founder who's outgrown your garage, tired of 3PL black boxes, or looking to operate closer to your customers in a new region — this is news worth understanding. Here's what it means, where Saltbox is headed, and why it matters for your business.
What does the Series C funding mean for Saltbox members?
The Series C round — led by Packard Capital, an Atlanta-based investment firm — is being put to work in three areas: growing Saltbox's national network of locations, investing in logistics infrastructure, and expanding the on-site operational support model that members rely on every day.
This isn't growth for growth's sake. The funding reflects a thesis that's been validated by thousands of product-based businesses over the past several years: rigid warehouse leases and fully outsourced 3PLs leave too much on the table. Founders want more control, more visibility, and more flexibility — and they want infrastructure that moves with them as their business scales.
"We're excited to continue expanding our footprint and to bring Saltbox to more entrepreneurs across the country. Packard is a valuable partner to us in both capital and real estate expertise, and we're aligned in our belief that product-based businesses need more flexible, supportive infrastructure to operate and scale. Together, we're building a platform that gives founders greater control, visibility, and the ability to grow on their own terms." — Katerina Cirilli, CEO of Saltbox
For current and prospective members, this means more locations coming online, a stronger fulfillment network, and a continued investment in the on-site teams that make Saltbox different from every other warehousing option on the market.
Why Chamblee? The story behind Saltbox's newest Atlanta location
Saltbox's Chamblee location isn't just another expansion marker on a map. It's personal.
The building where Chamblee now operates is the same building where Saltbox co-founder Tyler Scriven ran his own ecommerce company back in 2019 — the same year Saltbox was founded. That hands-on experience of running a product-based business, dealing with fulfillment headaches and outgrowing makeshift setups, is exactly what Saltbox was built to solve.
"We're super excited to add Chamblee as our third location in the Atlanta market. Chamblee is one of the fastest-growing cities in Georgia, and Saltbox is strategically located just around the corner from City Hall and close to MARTA. This location is especially meaningful because our co-founder, Tyler Scriven, ran and operated his ecommerce company out of this building back in 2019. This is where the vision of Saltbox was really born, so it makes this expansion extra special." — Lucy Voss, VP of Operations at Saltbox
With this opening, Saltbox now has three Atlanta locations totaling 300,000 square feet of co-warehousing space — making it one of the deepest operational networks for ecommerce founders in any U.S. city.
What's inside the Chamblee location

The Chamblee facility is built out the same way every Saltbox location is, which means no shortcuts and no stripped-down version of the experience. Members get access to:
- Private warehouse suites for storing and managing inventory
- Co-working amenities for getting real work done between shipments
- A content studio for product photography and video production
- Fulfillment services including pick-and-pack, kitting, and FBA prep
- An on-site team to support receiving, order processing, and day-to-day workflow improvements
Chamblee is also close to MARTA and a short drive from City Hall; convenient if you're coordinating pickups, managing deliveries, or just need to get in and out without fighting traffic.
Chicago is next: what to expect this fall
The Chicago announcement is the clearest signal yet that Saltbox is building a national network — not just a cluster of Southeast locations. Chicago gives members a central logistics hub in the Midwest, which translates directly into faster shipping times and lower carrier costs for businesses serving customers across a wide geography.
"Chicago has consistently been a market businesses have asked us to be in, so to be finally launching here feels especially impactful. We're seeing more members think beyond a single location — using Saltbox across markets to get closer to their customers, reduce shipping costs, and operate more efficiently. Chicago is a critical piece of that network." — Olivia Mariani, VP of Marketing at Saltbox
The Chicago location is slated to open this fall. More details on the specific address and member programming will be announced closer to opening.
How founders are using Saltbox as a distributed network
One of the most important shifts in how members use Saltbox over the past few years is the move from single-location to multi-location operations. Instead of anchoring everything to one facility and shipping nationwide from there, more founders are using Saltbox as a distributed network — placing inventory closer to their customers in multiple markets simultaneously.
The benefits are practical and immediate: lower shipping costs, faster delivery windows, and the ability to handle regional demand spikes without scrambling. It's the same logic behind how large brands operate, applied to independent and growing ecommerce businesses.
With locations now in 8 U.S. markets and more on the way, Saltbox is built to support that model — and the Series C funding is designed to accelerate it.
