Let’s be real—running a product-based business is basically a full-contact sport. You’re printing labels in your kitchen, tripping over boxes in your hallway, and crossing your fingers that porch pirates don't snag another delivery. Sound familiar? If you’re not ready to own a full warehouse (because who is?), you’ve probably looked into your options: dropshipping, outsourcing to a 3PL, or just powering through from your garage. And while those workarounds can help you get started, they often leave you sacrificing speed, control, or professionalism, just when you’re trying to level up. Read on to explore how to get warehouse access without the hefty price tag or compromising what your online business needs (and deserves).

Alternatives to renting a warehouse (and why they don’t always work)

Can’t swing the cost of a full-blown warehouse? You’re not alone—and thankfully, there are workarounds. Dropshipping lets you sell without holding inventory, and outsourcing to a 3PL (third-party logistics provider) can handle storage and fulfillment for you. But here’s the catch: both models come with trade-offs. Dropshipping limits your control over quality and shipping speed, while 3PLs often have high minimums, impersonal service, and rigid contracts that don’t favor newer or smaller brands. If you’re just starting out or scaling thoughtfully, these options might feel like fitting a square peg in a round box.

That’s why Saltbox  created Access Plans—to give small businesses the infrastructure they actually need, without the overhead or compromises. Whether you’re side-hustling or going full-throttle, Access Plans give you warehouse-level support without the warehouse-level commitment, allowing you to look pro, ship smarter, and finally stop fulfilling orders from your couch.

What are Saltbox Access Plans?

Saltbox Access Plans are flexible monthly memberships designed for solo founders and small product-based teams who need support without the stress of a lease. These plans offer a complete service, including order processing, printing products, managing customer service, and ensuring data security, providing a seamless and efficient experience for store owners. Why Saltbox? Because we're not just a mailbox or co-working space

A bright and organized co-warehousing facility full of couches, tables, and more for small businesses to access.

Most “alternatives” out there force you to pick between a glorified P.O. box or a logistical labyrinth, overlooking important success factors for operating an online store. Saltbox is different:

  • Real support — from freight receiving to label printing, we’ve got you covered
  • Hands-on help — our eForce team assists with loading, unloading, and keeping things moving
  • Designed for product-based businesses — not freelancers or tech bros
  • Community built-in — because shipping shouldn’t be a solo sport

Proper warehouse setup, including storage space, equipment lists, and trained staff, is essential for establishing an efficient ecommerce business and improving customer satisfaction. Whether you need a shipping station for the week or inbound support for your next drop, Access Plans flex to fit your flow.
